PS, if you get desperate i suggest calling your ISP and asking for help, refer to possible flood problems, and/or firewall issues with your router. Keep posting guys, im 100% certain that this is a hardware + software problem, but that they can both be fixed by correcting either one. I guess the new areas are sending less packets then the old ones. To another guy above who said he could play with Fae's but not old chars, i dont exactly remember if i could play as a Fae when the expansion first came out, but i do remember that i had no connection problem playing as a Fae in the beta, and i didnt have one when i made my first fae on the live servers. Tbh, turning the flood detection off on my router has completly removed all connection lag and disconnects that i was having everytime i logged on or after a couple of mins. I've also taken a picture of my routers firewall configuration, to give you an idea of what it looks like: Don't be afraid to play around with your routers settings as most (if not all) routers have a reset button that should restore all its settings to default. Go on google and use it to search for how to access your routers internal configuration. So heres my suggestion to all your router users. This is why i think its more of a hardware fault then software. In the end, she ended up solving her problem by buying a new router, even though a technician had been out and check up on her system. She had called Warner and they said the same thing as they are saying now, ("its a SOE sided problem"). I've read a previous thread where someone had a Warner router/modem and experienced the same issue as us ( infact this was before the expansion). I'm getting a hinch that this was what is causing the problem seeing as EQ2 did connect with my pc, till it got to the final stages of the loading screen where my pc would loose contact with the EQ2 server. i already have a firewall on my pc and it works just fine, 2. In my case i turned off the firewall and the flood detection for two reasons. Yes you could say that this problem is caused by SOE's software ( afterall most of us could play before the expansion just fine), however what EQ2 seem to do is get more packets then before which is what is causing the hardware failure. Now i've heard a lot about Warner and im not saying that they are wrong, but i don't believe they are right either. Im using a Thomson wireless, digital|broadband, cable router ( Model TCW710), which is connected directly to my pc through an eternet cable.
